Cypress is located on a beautiful, 5-acre rural campus in Hartsville, South Carolina. An incubator of youth leaders, our programs develop the emotional, social, and physical well-being of youth, empowering them with the skills necessary to reach their highest potential. Leadership 201 is the second of three courses in the Youth Leadership Program and empowers informed career-related goal setting and decision making among adolescents. During out-of-school time, Leadership 201 exposes students to community exploration through a sustainable development lens. Through a sequence of on-site lessons and off-site workplace visits, Leadership 201 facilitates career exploration process through workplace visits. Mentoring provides additional support to help students identify short and long-term school, work and career goals and action steps they can take in high school and beyond to insure attainment.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITiES
Reporting to the Executive Programs Director, Leadership 201 Program Coordinator has overall responsibility for quality planning, coordination, and safe implementation of Leadership 201 course. The position coordinates and is lead facilitator of all aspects of the Leadership 201 course including student recruitment and retention; family and partner relations; program transportation; facilitation and evaluation; and instructor, volunteer and intern management. The coordinator is also responsible for linking Leadership 201 activities to the educational mission of the organization, the Youth Leadership Program and to the wider community.
This position is essential to student and community service and experience. The coordinator must feel comfortable working in an often fast-paced organizational framework with shifting and evolving responsibilities. This position collaborates with other program staff, student leaders, and a variety of volunteers and partners to meet the organizational goals, and further the mission of the Youth Leadership Program. This position participates as a committed member and leader of the Youth Leadership Program team in collaborative work, projects, meetings, events, and overall community development.
SPECIFIC PROGRAM DUTIES
Provide logistical planning and direction for Leadership 201 course in accordance with Cypress Adventures policies & procedures
Collaborate with business community to ensure Cypress programs capitalize on existing resources and meet the educational and emotional needs of youth
Safely and professionally coordinate and implement after-school, experiential learning activities in accordance with Cypress program design, policies and procedures
Lead and supervise all Leadership 201 days, trips, events and other contractual programs
Manage student database and coordinate implementation of program evaluation systems
Demonstrate interactions with parents, youth, businesses and school district staff in a professional manner
Serve as a liaison between Cypress, partner businesses and school district staff
Coordinate student recruitment strategies in accordance with Cypress policies and procedures
Contribute to the development of expanded program curricula based on best practices in the field of experiential education and workforce readiness
Ensure the physical, emotional and social safety of groups of up to 20 students in the Youth Leadership Program
Create and foster an inclusive group culture and learning environment among students and coworkers
Compassionately inspire individual youth to discover their strengths, try new things and overcome fears in a supportive and safe environment
Manage sensitivity to personal issues with a willingness to monitor these issues to avoid in hindering group development (i.e., control issues, conflict avoidance, etc.)
Organize and sequence activities in an effective and meaningful manner for varying groups based on Six Cypress Values; 7 Foundational Skill Sets; and program model
Effective risk management; able to predict, recognize, and manage potentially harmful situations (physical and emotional)
Appropriately and responsibly manage conflict in accordance with the Cypress program model
QUALIFICATIONS
Four-year college degree or equivalent
Minimum of three years of work experience in a professional setting (Experiential Education preferred)
Alternatives to formal education and paid work experience may be considered as equivalent qualifications to include military service/training, volunteering, activism, and other non-traditional programs and experiences related to the position.

Leadership 101 is the first of three courses in the Youth Leadership Program and empowers social and emotional learning among adolescents during out-of-school time. Facilitated at our 5-acre Outdoor Education Center, Leadership 101 uses adventure-based programming, challenge course, and outdoor adventure to promote Positive Youth Development among middle and high school students. In partnership with our local school district, Leadership 101 serves diverse groups of 20 students (1/2 high school, 1/2 middle school) in 15-week increments (4 groups per school year). Each group meets twice-a-week after school with weekend hiking, canoeing, &/or camping trips. Summer programming includes 4 weeks of outdoor adventures.

RESPONSIBILITiES
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using Quickbooks online
Prepare and process accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions
Perform journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts
Assist with tax preparation and filing
Generate financial reports and assist with month-end closing procedures
Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and compliance with financial regulations
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve any discrepancies or issues

QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency in bookkeeping software Quickbooks
Strong knowledge of Quickbooks online and financial concepts
Experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger accounting
Ability to accurately perform debits and credits calculations
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Four-year college degree or equivalent
